Ruila in Estonia hosts an international equestrian event including two World Cup qualifiers from August 14 to 16.
In addition to Estonian athletes, riders from Finland, Latvia and Lithuania will compete in dressage and jumping World Cup qualifiers. Altogether, nearly 200 horses will be brought to Ruila.
Just recently, national championships took place in all three Baltic states and all three champions will also measure themselves against each other in Ruila. The Lithuanian show jumping champion’s title was won by highly merited Zigmantas Šarka who is very well known to the Estonian audience. Kristaps Neretnieks who has already earned the ticket to Tokyo, won the Lativian champion’s title last week. Estonian championship concluded this Sunday with the first time victory of Paul Argus whom we can also see competing in Ruila. It will be thrilling to see which country’s champion will score the best result in the World Cup qualifier.
„There is a lot of interest in the event because there are very few large international competitions”, said Riina Pill, the Secretary General of the Estonian Equestrian Federation. „This year it will be the only chance to see top level equestrian sport in Estonia, as the Tallinn International Horse Show will not take place in autumn. We invite all fans of equesterian sport to Ruila to cheer on our riders.”
The classes will start at 9 AM on Friday and Sunday, and 8.30 on Saturday, continuing until late hours of the evening. The highlights of the event are the dressage World Cup qualifier on Saturday, starting at 10.30 AM and jumping World Cup qualifier on Sunday at 4.30. You can also watch live feed of the event on Saturday, starting at 10.30, and on Sunday, starting at 9 AM.
